From more than 140 nominations, nine "incredible" finalists have been selected for the 2025 HESTA Australian Nursing and Midwifery Awards.
The 19th edition of the national awards will offer a $30,000 prize pool across the three categories: Nurse of the Year, Midwife of the Year, and Outstanding Organisation.
"Congratulations to all nine of our incredible nursing and midwifery awards finalists – HESTA is proud to help celebrate their significant achievements," the health superfund's CEO Debbie Blakey said.
The awards honour the vital contributions made by Australia's nurses, midwives, nurse educators, researchers, and personal care workers.
This year's finalists include a midwife from Victoria whose pioneering group practice model helped drive improvements in care for pregnant women; a nurse from New South Wales who has helped reduce the stigma around seeking mental health support; and an organisation recognised for delivering culturally safe maternal and family healthcare for First Peoples.
"Our heartfelt gratitude goes to the nurses, midwives, and organisations across Australia for their significant contributions to healthcare," Ms Blakey said.
"The high-quality nominations highlighted the unwavering dedication of so many in the sector and we owe them a great deal for their deep commitment."
The three category winners will be announced at a celebratory dinner on Wednesday May 14, with each taking home $10,000 to be used for personal or professional development or further development of processes or services in the workplace.
