    Andy Economos, 40, has been Hotel Services Manager at Brisbane Waters Private Hospital on New South Wales' Central Coast for two and a half years.

    What’s the best part about your job?

    Being able to help influence in a positive way in the care of our patients.

    What is something about your job that not many people know about, and what would surprise other people about working in a private hospital?

    How closely leadership teams work together in the daily running of the hospital. From the CEO to NUMS (Nurse Unit Managers), all caring and having input into the Hotel Services sector. 

    What do you love about working in a private hospital?

    It feels more like a team environment which gives the ability to make great friends as well as colleagues. 

    What do you like to do outside of work and/or what is something your colleagues don’t know about you?

    I’m very family orientated; most colleagues are surprised when I tell them I have three kids ranging in age from four to 19. 

    What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? 

    Don’t take yourself too seriously.
