Medtronic Australasia has been named as one of the 25 best workplaces to grow your career in LinkedIn's Top 2021 Companies in Australia.

The annual list published by LinkedIn News Australia uses the networking website’s own data to highlight companies that attract – and more importantly – invest in their talent.

It also celebrates companies with cultures that put employees first and give them opportunities to grow.

Medtronic Australasia, part of the leading global healthcare technology group, was recognised for setting up flexible working arrangements that made it well prepared when the COVID-19 pandemic began in March 2020.

Its YESFlex initiative, including robust work-from-home measures, was designed to empower every individual at Medtronic to achieve work-life balance.

“We are proud to be named among some of Australia’s most iconic and trusted companies who actively celebrate and reward their employees,” said Liz Carnabuci, Medtronic Australia and New Zealand's Vice-President and Managing Director.

“As a leader in healthcare technology, Medtronic is a progressive and proactive workplace, and we understand how flexible working arrangements promote an inclusive and autonomous working culture.”

Medtronic, which employs 865 people in Australia, was also praised by LinkedIn for quickly enabling remote monitoring and telehealth services for customers and patients when the pandemic hit.

It also publicly shared design specifications for one of its ventilators at a time when demand for the equipment was outstripping supply, and partnered with Victoria-based company Jigsaw to deliver a series of 3D assembly and maintenance training guides that have been accessed more than 20,000 times by 7,000-plus manufacturers.

“As a company, Medtronic constantly pushes the limits of what technology can do to help alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life, and it’s great to see that our innovative working culture has been recognised beyond the healthcare sector,” Ms Carnabuci added.

Medtronic is an APHA Major Sponsor.
