• Cura expansion continues in Sydney

Cura Day Hospitals Group has continued its rapid-growth program with the acquisition of a specialist facility in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.

Sydney Surgical Centre is based in Randwick’s medical precinct, one of the biggest dedicated healthcare hubs in New South Wales.

It features three large state-of-the-art integrated operating theatres equipped with the latest medical technology.

The hospital offers a range of procedures including ENT (ear, nose and throat), ophthalmology, oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthopaedics, plastic and reconstructive surgery, paediatric surgery, and vascular and endovascular surgery.

“The Sydney Surgical Centre has a reputation for providing first-class patient treatment in a caring and comfortable environment,” Cura Day Hospitals Group CEO Andrew Currie said.

“It attracts the best doctors and staff who work seamlessly together, has quality credentials, and has been designed with the patient’s journey and comfort in mind.”

Sydney Surgical Centre is the 29th healthcare facility in Cura's portfolio

Announced in December, the acquisition was Cura’s third of 2022 and took its portfolio of Australian facilities to 29, with seven of those in New South Wales.

Cura is one of the country’s leading short-stay hospital operators alongside Nexus, which also has 29 facilities following its recent purchase of the Montserrat group.

“We are committed to ensuring Australians have access to quality private healthcare, especially in the day and short-stay procedure sector,” Mr Currie said.

“It has been a huge year for us, and I look forward to seeing what else we can achieve in the months ahead.”
