In response to an increase in demand for its services, The Hollywood Clinic has expanded with purpose-built facilities designed to offer the best possible mental health care to the Western Australian community.
The $6.9 million project includes a new 30-bed wing, making The Hollywood Clinic a 70-bed facility.
The expansion includes:
- A new 30-bed wing of single rooms with en suite bathrooms
- A new dining room with alfresco area
- An additional group therapy room
- A patient lounge room
- Improved staff amenities
- A courtyard with decking
Hollywood Private Hospital Chief Executive Officer Peter Mott said the expansion had resulted from the increased need among the community for the Clinic’s services.
“Hollywood is pleased to have made a strong commitment to growing our ability to meet this requirement for mental health services. The Clinic development allows us not only to care for more patients, but enables us to improve our services and processes to meet patient needs.”
Mr Mott said the new facilities have been designed with patient wellbeing and comfort as the priority.
“We have created a warm and friendly setting that promotes wellbeing and healing.”
“We are very fortunate in having over 20 psychiatrists who admit patients to The Hollywood Clinic for a range of illnesses as well as a wonderfully skilled and committed team of allied health, nursing and support people who combine to provide very good patient care,” said Mr Mott. More than 25 additional staff have been employed in allied health, nursing and support roles.

MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES
Established in 1997, The Hollywood Clinic offers acute psychiatric care and out-patient mental health services.
It is the only stand-alone private inpatient mental health facility located on a private acute care hospital site in Western Australia. The Hollywood Clinic is a voluntary adult facility that prides itself on offering patients privacy and comfort in a warm and non-threatening environment.
The Clinic provides treatment and care for a comprehensive range of mental health conditions including anxiety, depression, bi-polar disorder, personality disorders, trauma, eating disorders and alcohol dependency.
In addition to its in-patient services, The Hollywood Clinic offers convenient day-patient treatment options for those not needing admission to hospital. The Clinic’s day programs include:
- Alcohol and Substance Use Program
- Mood and Anxiety Management Program
- Eating Disorders Programs
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Programs
- Women’s Trauma Program
- Seniors’ Program
The Hollywood Clinic is part of a larger expansion project at Hollywood Private Hospital. Due for completion in 2015, the project includes six more operating theatres, two new wards, a new kitchen and additional parking and will see Hollywood emerge as Western Australia’s largest private hospital based on bed size.
