Officer (AO) in the General Division

Professor Mohamed Khadra
For distinguished service to medicine in the field of urology as a surgeon, clinician and mentor, to rural and remote medical education, and to literature as an author and playwright. Works at Nepean Private Hospital and Westmead Private Hospital.

Professor Jennie Ponsford
For distinguished service to medical research in the field of neuropsychology, and through seminal advances in the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with traumatic brain injuries. Works at Epworth HealthCare.

Member (AM) in the General Division

Dr Harry Frydenberg
For significant service to medicine in the field of bariatric surgery as a clinician, author and mentor, and to professional organisations. Works at Epworth HealthCare.

Dr John Leyden 
For significant service to community health as an advocate for patient support networks and research into neuroendocrine cancer. Works at Sydney Bariatric Clinic which is located at Westmead Private Hospital.

Professor Peter MacDonald 
For significant service to medicine in the field of heart transplantation and cardiovascular research, and to medical education. Works at St Vincent’s Private Hospital, Sydney.

Associate Professor Rosemary Nixon
For significant service to community health in the field of occupational dermatology, as an academic and researcher, and to professional standards. Is on the Board of the Skin and Cancer Foundation.

Professor David Wattchow
For significant service to medicine as a gastrointestinal surgeon, to medical education, to professional societies, and as a benefactor. Works at Flinders Private Hospital.

Dr Terence Coyne
For service to medicine as a neurosurgeon. Works at The Wesley Hospital.
