Delegates at the APHA 38th National Congress (APHA Congress) will have a number of opportunities to meet with colleagues during the event, with a full social program on offer.
APHA Congress will kick off with the Welcome Reception hosted in the exhibitors’ gallery. A relaxed event the reception is a chance to meet with colleagues and mix and mingle with exhibitors.
APHA CEO Mr Michael Roff said the welcome reception is the perfect start to APHA Congress.
“We know many of our delegates join us for Congress to catch up with colleagues from across the country and for those informal conversations with vendors that can lead to strong partnerships. We keep the reception relaxed with just a few introductions to the event and a very casual atmosphere to get the conversations started that will no doubt continue in the following days.
“In 2019 we are also introducing a dedicated event for our small hospital members which will give them a chance to discuss issues particular to their sized hospital. The small hospitals meeting that has traditionally been held during APHA Congress will be run in a more informal setting that will encourage conversations as well as provide information to delegates,” he said.
The main event of the social program is the Gala Dinner at Showtime on the Yarra River.
APHA Congress returns to a formal gala dinner setting in 2019, with an evening of fabulous food from award winning chefs, networking and entertainment.
The venue itself will be a highlight, offering views of Melbourne and the charm of a heritage building. It includes a custom designed chandelier bar installation, along with wooden floorboards and wrought iron features it brings its own character to the evening.
