Golf day raises money for cardiac services

A day out on the green helped raise money to expand cardiology services at the Friendly Society Private Hospital.

More than $11,000 was raised at the second annual Friendlies Foundation Charity Golf Day, which saw 95 players take to the Bargara Gold Club in Queensland.

Friendlies Foundation Chairman of the Board, Les Hancock thanked those who showed their support for the golf day.

“Not only did everyone have a great day, but it was a great boost to our fundraising efforts with 100 percent of funds raised going to support expanding our oncology and cardiac services to deliver the best outcomes for our patients,” said Mr Hancock.

“During the next five years the Friendly Society Private Hospital plans to further expand cardiac services, with the need to build another cardiac and vascular catheterisation lab.

“The Friendlies Foundation will help to support this expanding area, enhancing patient services for the Bundaberg community,” said Mr Hancock.
