An inaugural charity cycling event raised $40,000 for health services in the Wide Bay area.
Twenty-one cyclists participated in The Friendlies High Country Tour, which saw them riding through the Wide Bay region over three days.
Friendly Society Private Hospital Chairman of the Board, Les Hancock decided to start the cycling event as a part of The Friendlies Foundation, which launched in April 2016.
As the first High Country Tour, Mr Hancock said he was very happy with the feedback from riders and sponsors.
“All the riders were very pleased with the event, the feedback has been amazing.
“Both the cause they were riding for and the way the ride was organised were both praised by everyone during the weekend,” said Mr Hancock.
The funds raised will support the delivery of leading cardiac and oncology services at the Friendly Society Private Hospital.
