Double trouble as Northern Beaches Hospital welcomes 1000th baby

Not to do anything by halves, Northern Beaches have welcomed their 1000th baby with twins.

When the maternity staff at Northern Beaches Hospital were ready to deliver the 1000th baby born at the hospital, they got more than they bargained for.

Not one, but two healthy non-identical twin girls arrived to celebrate the milestone.

Proud first-time parents, Seth and Katie Davies from Collaroy, were tickled pink with the arrival of beautiful twin girls Sage and Zali who entered the world at just 34 weeks. First Sage at 7.32pm, followed by Zali 13 minutes later, both weighing 2.5kgs.

They praised the care from the hospital's midwives and Special Care Nurses,  describing the whole experience as “awesome and pretty crazy”.

The couple have no twins in their family history but they were more delighted that their babies were safe and healthy.

The 1000 baby milestone was achieved quicker than expected at Northern Beaches Hospital since it opened in late October last year.
