Cura Day Hospitals Group is continuing with its expansion plans, acquiring Barton Private Hospital in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT).

Situated in the heart of Canberra’s parliamentary triangle, the hospital has three operating rooms and offers both day surgery and inpatient services.

Cura Group CEO Andrew Currie said Barton Private had built a reputation for surgical excellence since opening in 2008.

“Barton Private Hospital perfectly aligns with Cura’s strategic direction and vision to provide the very best pre, intra, and post-operative patient care nationally,” he said.

“And with their strong commitment to patient safety and excellent care, Barton Private Hospital meets Cura’s high standards of clinical quality.”

Mr Currie said Barton Private had a network of more than 30 highly sought-after specialists.

“We are delighted to welcome them to Cura Day Hospitals Group,” he added.

Barton Private Hospital provides both day surgery and overnight accommodation in a range of high-demand services, including ophthalmology, dentistry, gynaecology, plastic and reconstructive surgery, general surgery, orthopaedics, ear nose and throat and urology.

For overnight accommodation, patients are cared for in the Global-Mark accredited Barton Ward which is co-located in the five-star Hotel Realm.

Australia's largest day hospitals operator, Cura now has 26 facilities across the country, with Barton Private being its third acquisition in the ACT.

“We are proud to be the leader of hospital care in Australia and very much look forward to working with the team at Barton Private Hospital,” Mr Currie said.
